Summary: Easy-to-read undergraduate surgical text Rating: 4 Clunie's "Textbook of surgery" is a surgical text aimed at the medical undergraduate and covers all the essential topics for exams. While it is not as comprehensive as Way's "Current Surgical Diagnosis and Treatment", it is much more readable - the information is explained clearly and is therefore easily digested. It also has more up-to-date management of diseases (the last edition of Way came out in 1994). The problem-solving section at the back of Clunie is extremely useful. The book is certainly an excellent buy for Australasian students, who rarely have the opportunity to read texts with local data. Customer Reviews Book is good great for NCLEX style Q&A with rationals, a must have for MED-SURG Nursing Library, but was missing the CD rom This book is good for all medical-surgical nursing classes. It helped me out a lot when I found out about this book in second semester. It helped to improve my grades by focusing on what the nure must look for----signs and symptoms, interventions, etc. I would recommend this book for any serious nursing student out there who knows how to use resources like this effectively. I have used this book all semester and plan to use it for next semester also. It is very well written. It is alot easier to understand then a textbook. I found it easier to study from this book, along with my notes, then reading a text book. It breaks down everything for you into a outline. Good book I've already ordered another review book for Pediatrics This book and the rest in the series(they have all you need for BSN program) were irreplacable to me in my BSN studies. I just graduated one of the hardest programs in the state with a 3.642 GPA. The Lippincott series really made a difference. I didn't have them my first semester, but second semester with the books my grades jumped! The professors were not familiar with the books but I followed along in class with them page by page.
